Posted by Hattie Hayes, Apr 29, 2016

For those of you not in the know, Every Kid Healthy Week 2016 is coming to an end! Every Kid Healthy is an annual celebration of school health and wellness, brought to you by Action for Healthy Kids. All week, we've been compiling health resources dedicated to making children across the globe more informed about their health needs. Go beyond the last week in April and celebrate wellness all year round with these resources:

Action for Healthy Kids Resource Clearinghouse

This searchable list is extensive, with everything from activities for kids to training programs for educators. Use it throughout the year, and for your 2017 Every Kid Healthy Week planning!

Video Resources

Have a minor health concern? Want to know more before heading to the doctor? Check out the MyKidMinute videos from Cook Children's Health Care System to know if and when you should be worried about common symptoms. KidsHealth.org and TeensHealth.org have several videos on a range of topics, from hand-washing to basic surgical procedures. There's a section for parents, too.

Top Pediatric Twitter Users

There are a plethora of great pediatric resources on Twitter: Medscape Pediatrics, NCC Pediatrics, JAMA Pediatrics and the American Academy of Pediatrics, to name a few. You'll also see phenomenal content from Boston Children's Hospital, Seattle Children's Hospital, HealthyChildren.org, The Kid's Doctor, and Dr. Alan Greene. Tweet these docs and organizations if you have questions, need more resources, or want to keep up with kids' health news!

You'll find plenty of other resources across the web, like this list of health apps and online games for kids, and this list of kids songs about health and wellness. Here's to having healthy communities, and healthy kids, all year round!
