New features help hospitals deliver more convenient and connected telehealth

PHOENIX, June 22, 2020 (Newswire.com) - eVisit, a leading virtual care platform, today announced the availability of its next generation platform with key enhancements to help hospitals and health systems deliver more convenient and efficient telehealth. The new version—eVisit 2.0—provides the additional flexibility both patients and hospitals demand. New features include multiparty video, simple scheduling, expanded insurance tools, advanced workflow configuration and enhanced provider and patient usability experiences that make virtual care easier and more engaging.

COVID-19’s impact has forced hospitals to reevaluate their care delivery strategy as they grapple with tough choices including furloughing staff and providing patients with an alternative to in-person visits. eVisit 2.0 helps hospitals decrease appointment cancellations, while adding a virtual care component for health systems to keep both doctors and patients safe.

“We are incredibly excited to launch eVisit 2.0, which is truly a complete solution including the patient visit and everything associated with it from scheduling and intake to waiting room management and discharge,” says Bret Larsen, eVisit CEO. “Hospitals no longer have to settle for short-term, video-only telehealth products that cannot strategically integrate into a patient care framework or address the workflow surrounding a patient visit.”

New features in eVisit 2.0 include:

Multiparty video enables up to eight users—including caregivers, interpreters, translators and more—to join an eVisit telehealth appointment.

Simple scheduling makes it easier for hospital and health system schedulers and providers to coordinate and manage telehealth appointments.

Advanced workflow configuration enables hospitals to tailor patient intake and post-visit discharge to their unique workflows.

Enhanced provider and patient experiences give providers more visibility and control, as well as patients more simplicity and ease-of-use of the platform.

“eVisit 2.0 was built from the ground up to incorporate the features most requested by hospitals,” says Miles Romney, eVisit Chief Technology Officer. “The code efficiencies we achieve with this platform—with its common codebase across all platforms, and the open-source projects we sponsor to make that a reality—drastically improve scalability and agility, so we are better able to serve the massive increase in usage we have seen as a result of COVID-19.”

eVisit 2.0 launched on June 19, 2020, and the company will be demonstrating the new version at ATA2020, the American Telemedicine Association’s annual conference and expo being hosted virtually from June 22-26, 2020. Additionally, eVisit will be previewing its upcoming feature “eVisit Express,” which enables a patient to join a visit in as little as two clicks.
