eVisit Becomes First Telemedicine Solution to Fully Integrate with AthenaHealth EHR

Posted by Chase Larson

Healthcare providers using athenahealth EHR can now sign-up to do telemedicine visits via industry leader eVisit, all from within their EHR accounts.

PHOENIX, Ariz. (November 8, 2016) — eVisit, the leading telemedicine software solution for healthcare providers, has just become the very first telemedicine solution to fully integrate with athenahealth’s cloud-based Electronic Health Record (EHR) software. The partnership will allow the approximately 80,000 users of athenahealth’s EHR to seamlessly complete virtual visits with patients using eVisit’s technology.

“This integration is a huge step forward for healthcare providers interested in using a best-in-class telemedicine solution to better care for their own patients,” says Bret Larsen, CEO of eVisit. “With our integration, providers can take advantage of the first fully integrated telehealth solution, from scheduling, charting and billing to the visit itself with the simple click of a button. This kind of development project with athenahealth is what eVisit is all about — creating a physician-first approach to telemedicine.”

While athenahealth has partnered with other telemedicine companies in the past, eVisit is the first integration to take full advantage of athenahealth’s feature set. Healthcare providers who have signed on with athenahealth and eVisit will be able to access eVisit’s HIPAA-compliant, beautifully-designed live video solution from within their EHR accounts. The integration will enable features such as automated patient record verification, insurance collection, virtual visit documentation, and integrated scheduling between the two platforms.

“We know many doctors live within their EHRs and want to make sure our telemedicine solution fits easily into their existing workflows,” says Larsen. “This integration strengthens eVisit's position as a leader in telehealth and our mission to fundamentally simplify healthcare.”
