Written by Mardi Larson | Sep 30, 2021

The 7th National Telehealth Summit will be held in person at the Lowes Miami Beach Hotel in Florida next Monday-Tuesday with a core theme: Revolutionize Patient Care Outcomes and Curtail Costs through Telehealth and Remote Patient Monitoring.

At this event, our co-founder, CTO and on-staff futurist, Miles Romney, will deliver an Executive Spotlight presentation on Monday titled Practicing at the Top of Your License: Tech Paves the Way. As thought leaders in Virtual Care, additional keynotes covering this important topic are planned for the upcoming HLTH21 conference, also an in-person event, held in Boston Oct. 17-20, as well as the HealthIMPACT virtual event held Nov. 10-12.

eVisit is the leading Virtual Care platform that is powering the Virtual Care programs today for some of the largest HCOs in the nation including Banner Health, Texas Health Resources Group, Envision Healthcare and Concentra, we’ve deployed this technology across the spectrum. With our Virtual Care Maturity Model, we have unearthed the common barriers to success in Virtual Care and Hybrid Care programs and provider adoption has evolved as a top consideration to address.

Technology developments make their way into every aspect of human lives and industry, and Healthcare is no exception. This Spotlight Presentation is designed to showcase how Telehealth and other HealthTech can enable providers to do what they do best treat patients and deliver effective patient care. It will cover how the use of technology is helping providers practice as the top of their license and how HealthTech is helping HCOs bridge the gap in care and mitigate risks enterprise wide.

Technology advancements are happening every day, every nanosecond and those that embrace these approaches to work smarter help drive the change needed in Healthcare. Technology has been given a bad rap in causing provider burnout; however, when adopted properly, it has the power to mitigate burnout and help healthcare professionals become better.

From providers and nursing staff to care coordinators and admin team members technology is becoming a more crucial aspect in advancing patient care delivery. This presentation will give powerful examples of tech advancements throughout history, especially in banking with the Automated Teller Machine (ATM), which has enabled major strides forward for that industry.  What was called telebanking is now just banking. Today's it's called Virtual Care or Telehleath and it's just Care and Health.

Romney will address what he is calling the "efficiency gap" where the time physicians spend on low-value documentation is increasing, not decreasing.  He asserts that tech is crucial to pave the way for  providers to practices at the very top of their licenses and for the transformative change needed in healthcare.

Keynote of the Season

At the 7th National Telehealth Summit, Romney joins other healthcare leaders from renowned organizations such as Mass General, Intermountain Healthcare, UC-San Francisco Health, Ascension and NYU Medical School, among others.

This exclusive presentation will be delivered across several industry events. Those interested in this topic and more can register for HLTH21, as well as HealthIMPACT, where this topic will be covered by Romney along with a provider, Saivash Panah, MD, Banner Health's Telehealth Ambulatory Lead Physician, and an expert at using telehealth to serve patients in the pulmonary and sleep medicine specialty.
