A lot happened this year in the virtual care industry, including everything from new legislation to greater adoption to exciting innovations, and to top it all off, we celebrated the first national Telehealth Awareness Week in September. This all points to an industry buzzing with excitement and great potential.
In 2021, telehealth became widely accepted as not just a pandemic response tool—but a fundamental asset for urgent and routine care moving forward. eVisit is helping customers make this a reality by evolving telehealth and modernizing health systems with our highly configurable care delivery platform. By differentiating ourselves as an enterprise care delivery platform versus a traditional telehealth provider, we can offer end-to-end, fully integrated solutions that are built into modern health EHRs and scheduling systems, spanning the entire patient journey and continuum of care. Ultimately, we can help health systems and hospitals craft improved consumer and provider experiences in care navigation, delivery, and management with improved margins and no sacrifice to the quality of care.
Here’s what our CEO, Bret Larsen had to say about the road ahead: “We know 2022 will be even more exciting for eVisit as more health systems reimagine their Virtual Care programs with flexible workflows, greater convenience, and more profitable business plans. eVisit will continue to embrace the future by providing the best care delivery platform for modern consumer experiences in health care.”
As the year ends, we’re taking time to reflect on all the progress made both by our team and our partners. We attracted valuable investment, worked with amazing new customers, earned well-deserved recognition for our hard work, and we even started a podcast!
Here’s a closer look at some key 2021 eVisit milestones:
Investors took notice of growing demand for our Virtual Care platform.
This year we closed a $45 million Series B financing round led by the Growth Equity business within Goldman Sachs Asset Management, with participation from Texas Health Resources, Tom Burton and Steve Barlow (co-founders of Health Catalyst), and existing insiders. This investment is an opportunity for eVisit to advance our technological capabilities, optimize clinical encounters both for patients and providers, and drive growth by building upon our enterprise care delivery platform.
We partnered with some big names.
We started the year strong with an announcement that Concentra, the nation’s leader in occupational healthcare, selected eVisit’s enterprise care delivery platform to power its Concentra Telemed service offering. Using eVisit’s technology, Concentra successfully conducts more than 8,000 virtual visits per month with America’s workforce.
We also teamed up with MMM, the leading Medicare Advantage plan in Puerto Rico. Their Virtual Appointment (“Cita Virtual” in Spanish) uses eVisit’s platform to provide convenient access to health care services for older adults. It is the only Virtual Care service for Medicare Advantage plan members in Puerto Rico.
eVisit received a lot of recognition.
Inc. named eVisit one of America’s fastest growing companies in 2021. We were honored to be listed as part of the Inc. 5000, a ranking of the most dynamic privately held firms in the U.S.
Also, our enterprise care delivery platform was named the Solo Leader by Forrester Research in The Forrester Wave™: Virtual Care Platforms for Digital Health, Q1 2021. The eVisit platform was recognized among 12 other vendors and scored among the top for the Current Offering and Strategy categories.
Looking ahead.
What sets eVisit apart is our 2050 vision for a future where healthcare is proactive, holistic, and designed for easy access from the comfort of your home—the way patients want it to be. The way it should be. We know this guiding vision will continue to hold true into the new year and beyond.
We will relentlessly continue to advance our mission-oriented culture and unwavering commitment to customer success. We will also maintain our “consultative approach,” meaning we are here to be a trusted advisor—not to force a sell. Our goal is to share a vision with our customers and to serve as a long-term partner and collaborator in the transformation of healthcare. We couldn’t be more excited for what comes next!
