The company was chosen by a panel of expert judges from 138 innovative, early-stage businesses across Arizona and several other states. Finalists were selected on the strength of their technology, marketing strategy, team, management, and potential economic impact. Run by the [Arizona Commerce Authority](http://www.azcommerce.com/) (ACA), the [Arizona Innovation Challenge](http://www.azcommerce.com/programs/arizona-innovation-challenge) is a bi-annual competition that gives up to $3 million per year to promising, young companies in the tech field. This year’s applicants represented a range of high-value tech industries, from aerospace to Healthcare technology software. Winners of the challenge will receive up to $250,000 to grow their companies. “We were thrilled when we heard we made the initial cut to the semifinalists,” says eVisit CEO, Bret Larsen. “Now we’re one step closer, and honored to be considered among Arizona’s best tech startups.” eVisit continues to grow into a strong disruptor within the telemedicine space. In less than a year, the company has gone from concept to revenue, and created a strong team of thirteen employees, managed by seasoned leaders in the tech, healthcare, and business fields. Unlike competitor solutions, eVisit’s telehealth platform is built specifically for physicians, allowing them to treat their existing patients remotely via 2-way, high-resolution, secure video chat.
